A Site Kit alternative: the tag, not the dashboard.

Site Kit connects your site to Google Analytics, Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, AdSense and Tag Manager, and shows their reports in wp-admin. If what you really need is the tracking tag, Analytics adds GA4 or Tag Manager with consent handling — and imports the IDs Site Kit used.

Replaced by the bundled Analytics plugin · Included free with Presscomet

Switching from Site Kit by Google: the short version.

You get

  • GA4 measurement ID and GTM container imported from Site Kit
  • Logged-in users excluded, Do Not Track respected if you choose
  • Tags wait for analytics consent
  • A built-in cookieless chart of page views, top pages and referrers

Not included

  • No Search Console, PageSpeed Insights or AdSense reports in wp-admin
  • No Google sign-in or account setup flow
  • No AdSense ad placement

Is Site Kit slowing your admin?

Dashboards that pull reports from several Google APIs make the admin do network work on load. The front-end cost is the tags themselves, which you’d have with any setup.

Analytics only prints the tags and reads its own local counter, so the admin has nothing to fetch.

How switching works.

  1. 01

    Check your site

Run the free site check to see which of your plugins Presscomet replaces and what needs attention.

  2. 02

Connect your WordPress site. Content, users, media and plugin settings are imported into a new Presscomet site; your live site is only read.

  3. 03

    Review and switch

Open Analytics in the admin menu, and Settings → Analytics to check the imported settings, then point your domain at the new site when you’re happy.

Where to find it: Analytics in the admin menu, and Settings → Analytics.

Site Kit by Google alternative: questions

Will my Google Analytics data be lost?

No. Data lives in your Google Analytics property. The same measurement ID keeps collecting after the move.

Where do I see Search Console data?

In Search Console itself. It isn’t shown in wp-admin.

Can I keep running Site Kit by Google instead?

No. Presscomet doesn’t run PHP, so WordPress plugins can’t be installed. The bundled Analytics plugin does the job instead, and the migration imports the settings listed above.

Does Presscomet support WooCommerce?

Not today. Presscomet is for content sites — blogs, magazines, business and documentation sites. If your site sells through WooCommerce, it isn’t a fit yet.
