Features

All of WordPress you use. None you maintain.

Presscomet reproduces the parts of WordPress content teams depend on, and drops the parts that keep people up at night: PHP upgrades, plugin patching, caching layers and database servers.

01 — Feature

The WordPress admin, exactly

Same menus, list tables, Screen Options, bulk actions, notices and wording as WordPress 6.8.

Every admin screen is rebuilt from WordPress's own markup and class names, so it looks and behaves the way your team expects: hover row actions, quick edit, bulk actions, pagination, Screen Options and Help tabs.

Admin color schemes, the admin bar on the front end, the Howdy menu and per-user preferences all carry over.

02 — Feature

The block editor

Write with blocks, patterns and reusable blocks. Content is stored as standard WordPress block markup.

Posts are saved as <!-- wp:paragraph --> block markup, the same format WordPress uses, so content moves in and out without conversion.

Prefer TinyMCE? The bundled Classic Editor plugin restores it, per site or per user.

03 — Feature

Static speed, live updates

Pages are cached as static HTML with incremental regeneration, and purged the instant content changes.

Each public URL is rendered once and then served from cache. When you publish, update a menu or change a setting, only the affected pages are regenerated.

There is no caching plugin to configure and no stale page after you hit Update.

04 — Feature

Full static export

Render the whole site to files for Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages or S3.

Export pages, archives, pagination, feeds, sitemaps and the 404 page to a folder or zip, with uploads copied alongside.

Run the admin privately and publish only HTML — nothing on the public internet executes code.

05 — Feature

REST API compatible

/wp-json/wp/v2 with the same routes and response shapes, plus application passwords.

Headless front ends, mobile apps, Zapier-style integrations and scripts written for WordPress keep working against the same endpoints.

Authenticate with application passwords created under Users › Profile, exactly as in WordPress.

06 — Feature

One SQLite file

No MySQL server. The whole database is a single file you can copy, version or back up.

The schema mirrors wp_posts, wp_postmeta, wp_terms, wp_options and friends, so the data model you know still applies.

Backups are a file copy. The bundled Backups plugin also snapshots the database and uploads on demand or on a schedule, with download and restore.

07 — Feature

Themes that look the same

Bundled default themes, theme.json styles, and your current theme captured during migration.

Twenty Twenty-Five, Twenty Twenty-Four and Twenty Twenty-One ship in the box, along with a fast Presscomet Starter theme.

Migrating? The Captured theme reproduces your existing theme's markup and CSS so the site looks identical on day one.

08 — Feature

No PHP to patch

No abandoned PHP plugins, no xmlrpc.php, no executable uploads folder.

Most WordPress compromises come through outdated PHP plugins and themes. Presscomet runs none, and its uploads folder can never execute code.

The bundled Security plugin adds login rate limiting, two-factor login and security headers on top.

Lose the PHP.
