A WP Rocket alternative that’s already switched on.

WP Rocket’s pitch is speed with sensible defaults. Here, page caching isn’t a plugin at all — every public page is cached and purged automatically. The Cache plugin adds what WP Rocket users reach for: preload, a cache lifetime, LazyLoad and the YouTube preview image.

Replaced by the bundled Cache plugin · Included free with Presscomet

Switching from WP Rocket: the short version.

You get

  • Page caching and automatic purge, nothing to configure
  • Preload after purge and daily, with adjustable concurrency
  • LazyLoad for images, iframes and videos; YouTube preview image
  • Minified, split and compressed CSS and JS as part of the build

Not included

  • No Remove Unused CSS or Delay JavaScript execution
  • No database optimisation, heartbeat control or CDN rewriting
  • No per-URL cache exclusions

Still slow with WP Rocket?

A cache plugin can only cache what WordPress produces. Heavy themes, page builders, many plugin scripts and slow uncached requests (logged-in users, carts, searches) all stay slow — which is why WP Rocket adds file optimisation on top.

Public pages on Presscomet are rendered once and served from a built-in page cache until the content changes, so a plugin's work happens at render time, not on every visit. Theme and plugin assets are bundled and minified when the site is built, instead of being rewritten on the fly.

WP Rocket breaking your layout?

Most breakage comes from the aggressive options — removing unused CSS, delaying or combining JavaScript — where the plugin guesses what a page needs. Those options don’t exist here, so there’s nothing to exclude or debug.

How switching works.

  1. 01

    Check your site

Run the free site check to see which of your plugins Presscomet replaces and what needs attention.

  2. 02

    Run the migration

Connect your WordPress site. Content, users, media and plugin settings are imported into a new Presscomet site; your live site is only read.

  3. 03

    Review and switch

Open Settings → Cache, and Clear Cache in the toolbar to check the imported settings, then point your domain at the new site when you’re happy.

Where to find it: Settings → Cache, and Clear Cache in the toolbar.

WP Rocket alternative: questions

Is it as fast as WP Rocket?

Speed depends on your host, theme and content, so measure your own pages. Cached pages here are served without running PHP or MySQL, and nothing has to be configured to get there.

Can I exclude a page from the cache?

No. There are no per-URL cache exclusions; instead the cache is cleared automatically whenever the content it shows changes.

Do I need a CDN?

Not to get caching. A CDN helps visitors far from your server, and works in front of the site with standard cache headers.

Can I keep running WP Rocket instead?

No. Presscomet doesn’t run PHP, so WordPress plugins can’t be installed. The bundled Cache plugin does the job instead, and the migration imports the settings listed above.

Does Presscomet support WooCommerce?

Not today. Presscomet is for content sites — blogs, magazines, business and documentation sites. If your site sells through WooCommerce, it isn’t a fit yet.
