The cache plugin you don’t have to configure.

Pages are cached by default and cleared automatically when you publish, edit or delete. This plugin manages that cache: Clear Cache, a background preload of every URL, an optional cache lifetime, and lazy loading for images, iframes, videos and YouTube embeds.

Bundled with Presscomet · Replaces WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Fastest Cache, Autoptimize

What it does, and what it doesn’t.

You get

  • Page caching on any host, no server modules or rewrite rules
  • Automatic purge on content change, plus preload after purge
  • Lazy loading and a click-to-load YouTube preview
  • A Clear Cache link in the toolbar

Not included

  • No “remove unused CSS” or per-script delay rules
  • No database clean-up tools
  • No CDN URL rewriting — put a CDN in front instead

Why is WordPress slow without a cache plugin?

Without a page cache, WordPress runs PHP and database queries to build each page for each visitor. Cache plugins save the finished HTML so the next visitor gets a file instead — then you tune purge rules, preload and exclusions.

Public pages on Presscomet are rendered once and served from a built-in page cache until the content changes, so a plugin's work happens at render time, not on every visit. There is nothing to install, and the cache knows exactly when content changed, so stale pages and manual purges are rare.

Choosing a cache plugin for WordPress

Cache plugins differ in how pages are stored (PHP, server rewrite rules, or the web server itself), and in how many extra optimizations they bolt on. More settings can mean more speed — and more ways to break a layout.

On Presscomet, minifying, splitting and compressing scripts and stylesheets is part of how the site is built, so the plugin only shows those rows as handled.

What moves over automatically.

Caching itself needs no migration. The importer brings over the few settings that still mean something: lifetime, preload and lazy loading.

Imported

  • WP Rocket: cache lifetime, LazyLoad for images and iframes, YouTube preview, preloadwp_rocket_settings
  • LiteSpeed Cache: public TTL, image and iframe lazy loadlitespeed.conf.cache-ttl_publitespeed.conf.media-lazylitespeed.conf.media-iframe_lazy
  • WP Super Cache: expiry and preload, when stored in the databasecache_max_timepreload_on
  • W3 Total Cache: page cache lifetime, when stored in the databasew3tc_pgcache_lifetime

Not imported

  • Minify, combine and defer settings (handled when the site is built)
  • Exclusions, CDN hostnames and database clean-up schedules
  • Settings kept in files under wp-content rather than in the database

How switching works.

  1. 01

    Check your site

Run the free site check to see which of your plugins Presscomet replaces and what needs attention.

  2. 02

    Run the migration

Connect your WordPress site. Content, users, media and plugin settings are imported into a new Presscomet site; your live site is only read.

  3. 03

    Review and switch

Open Settings → Cache: Dashboard, Cache, Media and File Optimization tabs; Clear Cache in the toolbar to check the imported settings, then point your domain at the new site when you’re happy.

Cache: questions

Do I need a caching plugin?

No. Presscomet caches every public page by default and clears it when content changes. The Cache plugin only adds controls: purge, preload, a lifetime and lazy loading.

How fast is it?

It depends on your host, theme and content. Serving a cached page is much less work than building it with PHP and MySQL, but measure your own site before and after rather than trusting anyone’s headline number.

Can I still use a CDN?

Yes. Cached pages carry standard Cache-Control headers, so any CDN in front of the site works.

Can I keep running WP Rocket instead?

No. Presscomet doesn’t run PHP, so WordPress plugins can’t be installed. The bundled Cache plugin does the job instead, and the migration imports the settings listed above.

Does Presscomet support WooCommerce?

Not today. Presscomet is for content sites — blogs, magazines, business and documentation sites. If your site sells through WooCommerce, it isn’t a fit yet.
