A LiteSpeed Cache alternative that works on any host.

LiteSpeed Cache is excellent on a LiteSpeed server, where the web server itself stores pages. Move host and the page cache stops. Here the cache is part of the application, so it travels with the site — along with your TTL and lazy-load settings.

Replaced by the bundled Cache plugin · Included free with Presscomet

Switching from LiteSpeed Cache: the short version.

You get

  • Page caching on any host, no server module
  • Automatic purge and background preload
  • Public TTL imported as the cache lifetime
  • Image and iframe lazy loading imported

Not included

  • No image optimisation, WebP conversion or critical CSS service
  • No object cache, ESI or guest mode
  • No QUIC.cloud CDN integration — put any CDN in front

LiteSpeed Cache not working?

If the page cache never turns on, check the server: LiteSpeed Cache’s page caching relies on LiteSpeed Web Server or OpenLiteSpeed. On Apache or Nginx hosts, only its optimisation features work.

When you move off a LiteSpeed host — or move to one — caching here keeps working without changes.

How switching works.

  1. 01

    Check your site

Run the free site check to see which of your plugins Presscomet replaces and what needs attention.

  2. 02

    Run the migration

Connect your WordPress site. Content, users, media and plugin settings are imported into a new Presscomet site; your live site is only read.

  3. 03

    Review and switch

Open Settings → Cache, and Clear Cache in the toolbar to check the imported settings, then point your domain at the new site when you’re happy.

Where to find it: Settings → Cache, and Clear Cache in the toolbar.

LiteSpeed Cache alternative: questions

Do I need a LiteSpeed server?

No. Caching works on managed hosting, a VPS or any server that runs Node.js.

What about image optimisation?

There’s no built-in image optimisation service. Compress images before upload or use an image CDN.

Can I keep running LiteSpeed Cache instead?

No. Presscomet doesn’t run PHP, so WordPress plugins can’t be installed. The bundled Cache plugin does the job instead, and the migration imports the settings listed above.

Does Presscomet support WooCommerce?

Not today. Presscomet is for content sites — blogs, magazines, business and documentation sites. If your site sells through WooCommerce, it isn’t a fit yet.
