What it does, and what it doesn’t.

You get

  • Contact Form 7 form-tags, mail-tags and messages
  • [contact-form-7] and [wpforms] shortcodes keep rendering
  • Every submission saved, with CSV export
  • Spam checks that need no third-party service

Not included

  • No conditional logic, multi-page forms or payment fields
  • No reCAPTCHA integration (honeypot, time trap and math question instead)
  • Gravity Forms and Ninja Forms forms can’t be imported

Which contact form plugin do you actually need?

For a contact page, a quote request or a newsletter-style sign-up, you need fields, validation, an email to you, maybe an auto-reply, spam protection and a record of what came in. That is what Forms does.

If your forms take payments, branch with conditional logic or span several pages, a dedicated form product is the better fit — and those sites usually aren’t a match for a move yet.

Contact form not sending email?

When a WordPress form says “sent” but nothing arrives, the form is usually fine and the email isn’t: the server sends mail without authentication and it is filtered as spam. The fix is to send through a real mail provider over SMTP.

Presscomet bundles an SMTP plugin with a test-email screen and an email log for exactly this, and Forms keeps a copy of every message in the inbox, so nothing is lost while you fix delivery.

How switching works.

  1. 01

    Check your site

Run the free site check to see which of your plugins Presscomet replaces and what needs attention.

  2. 02

    Run the migration

Connect your WordPress site. Content, users, media and plugin settings are imported into a new Presscomet site; your live site is only read.

  3. 03

    Review and switch

Open Contact in the admin menu: Contact Forms, Add New, Inbound Messages to check the imported settings, then point your domain at the new site when you’re happy.

Forms: questions

Do my existing contact forms keep working?

Contact Form 7 forms are imported as they are and their shortcodes and blocks keep rendering. WPForms forms are converted, and [wpforms id] shortcodes keep working through an alias.

Where are submissions stored?

Under Contact → Inbound Messages, in the site’s own database. You can turn storage off per form and export messages as CSV.

How is spam stopped without reCAPTCHA?

A hidden honeypot field, a minimum time to fill the form, an optional math question, and — when the Antispam plugin is on — the same local checks used for comments. Spam is kept in a Spam view, not deleted silently.

Do forms work on a static export?

A static site has no server to receive submissions, so forms then need a hosted endpoint. On managed hosting or your own server, forms work out of the box.

Can I keep running Contact Form 7 instead?

No. Presscomet doesn’t run PHP, so WordPress plugins can’t be installed. The bundled Forms plugin does the job instead, and the migration imports the settings listed above.

Does Presscomet support WooCommerce?

Not today. Presscomet is for content sites — blogs, magazines, business and documentation sites. If your site sells through WooCommerce, it isn’t a fit yet.
