Backups are one file and a zip.
The whole database is a single SQLite file, so a backup is that file plus a zip of your uploads. Take one now or on a daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly schedule, keep the newest few, download them, upload one to another site and restore with a click.
Bundled with Presscomet · Replaces UpdraftPlus, BackWPup, Duplicator, All-in-One WP Migration
What it does, and what it doesn’t.
You get
- Separate schedules and retention for database and uploads
- Download, upload and one-click restore
- A safety snapshot before every restore
- Email report after scheduled backups
Not included
- No remote storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, S3…) — download backups, or use managed hosting’s daily backups
- No incremental backups or encryption
Why WordPress backups are hard, and these aren’t
A WordPress backup has to dump a MySQL database and archive thousands of files, often on shared hosting with time limits. That is why backup plugins split jobs, resume and retry.
On Presscomet the database is one file and the code isn’t yours to back up — it is the application. On managed hosting, daily backups are also taken for you.

Backups: questions
Can backups go to Dropbox or Google Drive?
No. Backups are stored on the server and you can download them. On managed hosting, daily backups are taken and kept for your plan’s retention.
Can I restore an UpdraftPlus backup?
No. UpdraftPlus archives contain a MySQL dump. Your content is brought over by the migration instead.
What if a restore goes wrong?
A safety snapshot is taken before every restore, so you can roll back.
Can I keep running UpdraftPlus instead?
No. Presscomet doesn’t run PHP, so WordPress plugins can’t be installed. The bundled Backups plugin does the job instead, and the migration imports the settings listed above.
Does Presscomet support WooCommerce?
Not today. Presscomet is for content sites — blogs, magazines, business and documentation sites. If your site sells through WooCommerce, it isn’t a fit yet.
