Migrating From WordPress Without Losing a Single URL

Redirects are where most migrations go wrong. Keep your permalink structure, and you don’t need any.

Redirects are where most migrations go wrong. Search engines forget, old links break and a decade of good backlinks quietly stops working. The fix is simple: keep your permalink structure, and you don’t need any redirects at all.

What carries over

  • Posts, pages, categories and tags
  • The media library, with every image size
  • Menus, widgets and settings
  • Users, roles and passwords
  • Comments and their threads
  • Plugin settings and post meta

Our process

  1. Import the site into a staging copy
  2. Compare twenty representative pages side by side
  3. Check feeds, sitemaps and search
  4. Switch DNS — and keep the old server for a week

That’s it. No spreadsheet of redirects, no lost rankings. If you’d like help, we do this for a living.

We migrated last week following this — zero broken links. Thank you!
